What you'll do...

As a Logistics Engineer, you will be supporting the planning and delivery of traditional material flow and the execution of major Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) within a stateoftheart battery manufacturing environment.

Working as part of a wider engineering team, you will play an active role in a complex, safetycritical automation project, contributing to the design coordination, installation, commissioning, and testing of largescale warehouse systems.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Support the design, coordination, and onsite delivery of ASRS and associated material handling systems for a new greenfield manufacturing facility.
  • Manage logistics automation suppliers to ensure technical compliance, change control, and on-time, in-budget project delivery.
  • Prepare technical documentation, site activities, and operational readiness.
  • Support the material flow across our facilities, plan high complexity manual operations with safety, quality and efficiency in mind to support our extremely high-speed automated production lines.

 

The role is based in Somerset, with a hybrid working arrangement and opportunities for UK and overseas travel in support of project activities.

The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The team you'll join...

The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help in building large-scale logistics facilities from the ground up.

What you'll bring...

  • Experience working with automated logistics, material handling, or manufacturing systems.
  • Material flow experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Practical understanding of automation systems (e.g. ASRS, conveyors, AGVs, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of project delivery fundamentals, including tracking actions, risks, changes, and milestones.
  • Logical and structured problemsolving skills, able to assess technical issues and contribute to resolution.
