Local MP unveils new mural at Agratas Bridgwater site

Earlier this month, Sir Ashley Fox MP joined local schoolteachers and pupils to unveil new artwork at our UK battery manufacturing facility site in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The mural is a collection of drawings by children from Woolavington and Puriton primary schools, who, in autumn 2025, were invited to create designs as part of a competition set by Agratas.

Out of the top three entries from Woolavington, Agratas team members voted Eleanor Fear’s drawing as the winning design, with all three artists receiving book tokens for their creative work.

Puriton Primary submitted a collaborative piece created by a group of pupils and will be receiving a gift voucher to purchase art supplies for the school.

On the day, Sir Ashley Fox MP and Nick Cooper, Community Engagement Manager at Agratas, revealed the mural to guests, with the children counting down to the unveiling.

Sir Ashley Fox MP said:
"I was delighted to unveil the new mural at Agratas’ site and celebrate the artwork created by pupils from Woolavington and Puriton. Their creations are a good reminder that local people will be central to the success of this major investment. I hope it helps inspire the children, their families, and their neighbours to imagine the opportunities that will be created at the battery manufacturing facility."

Amongst the guests at the event were Georgina Maclennan, Headteacher at Woolavington Village Primary School; Ellen Hussey, a teacher at Puriton Primary School; and Rebecca Anderson, Projects Operations Manager at Agratas.

Rebecca said:
“It’s a fantastic addition to our Bridgwater site. Seeing the children’s artwork unveiled was a genuinely special moment. Their mural brings colour, creativity and a sense of community to our gates, and shows, every day, that what we’re building here is about more than construction – it’s about people and the future generations who will shape this place.”

The mural is now on full display at the entrance to our Bridgwater site.
