Sanand Quality Master Trainers complete training at UKBIC

As construction of our battery manufacturing facility sites in Sanand and Bridgwater continues, our quality and manufacturing teams are getting ready to make the sites operational.

To enable us to deliver top quality cells to our customers, we have designed the Plant Quality Training Programme in partnership with UKBIC, with our first cohort of Quality Master Trainers recently completing the bespoke course, which accelerates readiness and embeds core competencies in our operations.

Many modules were covered including metallography – the study of the physical structure of metals at a microscopic level, to cell teardowns.

The training delivered will help us ensure product and operational quality.

Bradley Banyard, our Senior Manager of Programmes in the Operations team said:
“This training has not only upskilled our teams but also strengthened our operational upskilling ties with UKBIC, which will be a valuable relationship going forward as we continue training the teams that need it.”
Shweta Manchwari, a Quality Specialist at Agratas who travelled from Sanand, India to complete the course said:
“During the course we have learnt and gained skills to prepare us to be at our best for the launch of our facilities and deliver them with top quality.”
Chaou Tan, Senior Battery Scientist from UKBIC said:
“We’re proud to support Agratas as they look to develop the skills they need to make a success of their gigafactory plans around the world. By providing hand-on training with our experts, we’ve helped equip their team with the practical skills and technical understanding needed to accelerate their journey from concept to commercialisation.”
